Making money has never been our objective in making Elvis of Cambodia.
If it were, this would not have been the project we'd have chosen.
(In fact we've spent thousands of our own dollars making it).
So when we started to consider what to do with any profits that will be generated from the film we found ourselves considering our options.
A. Should we put the money into another project?
B. Should we give the money away to charity?
C. Should we put the money into more screenings in more places so the world gets to know who Sinn Sisamouth was and what he means to people even until this day?
We thought long and hard about it.
And decided on B and C.
This means that any contribution you make to Elvis of Cambodia is paying it forward to the following non-profit/charities and screenings:
2. Cambodian Living Arts project, Khmer Magic Music Bus (Run by Arn Chorn-Pond)
3. And to additional screenings of the film worldwide (information to follow).
Our priority right now is to get Elvis of Cambodia finished so that we can share it with the world and begin to generate some revenue for these important organizations.
Our most pressing task is to get the animation ball rolling on Elvis of Cambodia.
We need to raise $8,000 by October 20th, 2019 to make that happen.
Are you willing and able to give a small contribution so we can move even closer to the completion of the film?
If every person who reads this article donates just $10, $20 or $50 we will be on our way to beautiful and vibrant depictions of Sinn Sisamouth's life (created by a Cambodian animation company based in Phnom Penh) and a soon to be finished documentary film!
We hope you will consider getting involved and being a part of Elvis.
